About Dead Canary

Canaries went down mines because they died before the miners did. This site is the canary for your integrations: one calendar of every API, model, SDK version and feature that a vendor has announced will stop working.

How it works

  1. Collect: every night we're watching 300+ changelogs and feeds: 42 dedicated deprecation/lifecycle pages (parsed per vendor), changelog and blog feeds, and official SDK GitHub releases.
  2. Filter: items using deprecation, sunset, retirement, end-of-life, breaking-change or "will be removed" language are kept.
  3. Extract: a small language model splits bundled notices into individual events and pulls out the product, change type, announce and effective dates, and replacement. It is told to use only facts in the vendor's text.
  4. Review: nothing publishes automatically. A human approves every event against its source before it appears here.
